A History of Respecting The Environment
At its founding more than 25 years ago Cathedral Stone® embarked on an international journey to find the best, environmentally safe materials for restoring and preserving masonry—materials that wouldn’t do further damage to the stone or raise concern for the safety of people installing, inhaling or handling the products.
Cathedral Stone’s exploration of European masonry preservation led the company to be the first to import and distribute Jahn Restoration Mortars to North America. Not only was this product designed to repair and protect masonry, it was safe for the structure, the environment and those installing it on historic buildings.
Today, Cathedral Stone continues its tradition of respecting the environment. It invariably researches and innovates new methods for developing products that protect masonry, aren’t hazardous to installers, and keep the ground and atmosphere safe where products are being applied.
Most recently, Cathedral Stone developed R-97 Water Repellent, which contains zero volatile organic compounds (VOCs). For the states of California and New York 100% VOC-free is a building materials requirement. U.S. Green Building Counsel expects “no VOCs” to become a national mandate.
